Robot That Help To Scoop Up Disgustful Matter
A robotic project that the roboticists at the university of Pennsylvania’s GRASP Lab have been working on, is called Perception Of Offensive Products and Sensorized Control Of Object Pickup, or POOP SCOOP, and it focuses on teaching a PR2 robot to recognize and handle POOPs, or Potentially Offensive Objects for Pickup.
A robot that can be used in the future to help human walking their dogs around an area safely, and to scoop up all the dogs’ disgustful matters or poops. It placed as the best domestic robot helper so far for the year.
In a test, the video showed the robot carefully find and pick up all POOPs in a given field and put it in a bucket, it was presented by researcher Ben Cohen who explained in the video below. The best thing about this robot is that, it’s sensing the location where each poop at, also sensing that it is adding the poops in the bucket with no problem, if it doesn’t get in it, it feels that also.
